For many years I was invited to speak on getting publicity at an annual conference. I enjoyed myself, and got high-marks from the audience when they filled out their evaluation forms. For example, I once asked my client, Robert Kiyosaki, why he wrote his book Rich Dad Poor Dad. He said simply, “I wrote my book to sell my game.” In fact, he jokingly says his book serves as a defacto “brochure” because once they read it many people will be prompted to buy his game, Cash Flow for $150.00. He also offers “Rich Dad” seminars for $5,000 to people who want additional instruction on the principles he presents in his books.

There’s a saying I’ve learned from Dan Kennedy that goes like this “Little Hinges Swing Big Doors.” And it’s especially true for authors. Your book is the hinge, and if you set things up right it can serve as a big door to additional profits.

You see when people buy your book and like it, many of them will inevitably want "more of you" which means you can also sell them many additional products and services - usually at much greater prices than your book. For instance, somebody who first buys your $20 book might later buy a $297 audio tape product based on your book, enroll in a $2,000 coaching program you offer to help them implement the material in your book or even hire you for $5,000 as a consultant to work with them one-on-one.

But this won’t happen very often unless you know how to set things up to make it happen. That’s what we’ll show you how to do in my Million Dollar Author Program.

  • Get Paid Big Fees As a Consultant. Will people really pay YOU for your advice? They will if you know how to market yourself as a consultant. He had no promotional literature of any kind. He had no “track record” as a consultant. He wasn’t even the author of a book. Result? It’s not uncommon for coaches to make $500.00 to 2,000.00 or more per month but you need to know how to “attract” these clients and how best to structure your program. Kennedy is also the author of How to Make Millions With Your Ideas, the first of two books with Penguin/Plume/Simon & Schuster. His books helped him become a speaker on the Peter Lowe Success Seminar tour for over ten years, speaking with Zig Ziglar, Larry King, Tony Robbins, former President Bush, Colin Powell, and many others. He currently commands a minimum of $8,600.00 for a day of private consulting—and is booked as far as 11 months ahead.
